OVERVIEW
The ICC commissioned Aurora to produce a series of documentaries.
Aurora has a long history of creating cinematic films for the ICC that capture cricket’s defining characters, moments, and emotions. Across official films, anthems, and historical retrospectives, our work blends archive, interviews and new filming to tell authentic, enduring stories of the sport.
Highlights include:
- The History of Women’s Cricket (2015)– A landmark official film created for the ICC Cricket World Cup shot across Australia and New Zealand, charting the evolution of the women’s game through the eyes of players, fans and legends. Blended archive, interviews and reconstruction filming to bring the story to life.
- ICC Anthem Documentary (2024) – Behind-the-scenes film on the creation of the ICC’s new sonic identity by composer Lorne Balfe, filmed inside Abbey Road Studios with a 100-piece orchestra. A cinematic tribute to the spirit of cricket.
- The Experts’ View (2025) – A round-table discussion with leading voices such as Ebony Rainford-Brent, Mel Jones, Nasser Hussain and others, previewing the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
- ICC Champions Trophy Films (2025) – From documenting the making of the Thomas Lyte trophy to revisiting all eight editions of the tournament, we combined archival storytelling and new interviews to celebrate the event’s legacy across two original films and digital teasers.
