Aurora has been appointed Host Broadcast Partner for the inaugural FIA Extreme H World Cup, the world’s first hydrogen-powered motorsport World Cup, and the final Extreme E Desert X Prix.
Aurora’s newly established MENA offices will run the production on the ground. Utilising local staff, suppliers and other crew members to make this more regionally dependent, further reducing the carbon footprint of the production.
The FIA Extreme H World Cup represents a new frontier in motorsport, showcasing hydrogen fuel cell technology as a clean energy solution while promoting equality with male and female drivers in every team. The inaugural event will take place from 9–11 October 2025 in Qiddiya City, Saudi Arabia. This follows the Extreme E Final Lap Desert X Prix on 4–5 October, which will provide a fitting conclusion to the electric series before the baton passes to hydrogen. The Desert X Prix marks the conclusion of five seasons of Extreme E, with the Final Lap celebrating the series’ innovation and legacy.
James Pearce - Managing Director MENA at Aurora
Aurora’s production will deliver live global broadcasts, highlights programming, digital-first content and behind the scenes coverage across both events. As the long-standing broadcast partner of Extreme E, Aurora now carries the story from the series’ beginnings through to the next era of sustainable hydrogen-based racing.
Aurora has been with us since day one, and we are proud to continue that partnership as we say farewell to Extreme E and showcase the power of hydrogen and sustainable technology with Extreme H to a global audience. Qiddiya City is the ideal launchpad for the FIA Extreme H World Cup - a visually stunning, technologically ambitious location that sets the tone for a new era of motorsport.
This latest appointment builds on Aurora’s track record in producing host broadcasts and content for major sporting events including Formula E, E1, FIA World Rallycross, Supertri and the FIM World Supercross Championship.
